About Fil-Am Learners
Are you in search of ideas and activities that teach children Tagalog and Filipino culture?
Are you a parent who would like to learn Tagalog for yourself and to use with your children?
Do you feel intimidated or reluctant to introduce Tagalog to your children because you don’t speak Tagalog fluently yourself?
You’ve come to the right place!
At Fil-Am Learners, we create and share digital and physical products to teach basic Tagalog to children and families. Whether you understand Tagalog or know zero Tagalog, you can share the language with your child. Our tagline is: “A Taglish discovery of our cultural roots.” Therefore, our resources are primarily written in English, with Tagalog embedded throughout to introduce basic vocabulary and phrases. Language can be learned together. You don’t need to be fluent in a language to teach your child. (I know firsthand, as a Fil-Am mama who is also navigating this language learning journey through Tag-lish [Tagalog-English]. It is my passion and hope to use Fil-Am Learners as a vessel to share the Tagalog language with others.
So, let’s dive in and keep the Tagalog language alive for our generation & generations to come!
