Have an Easter-inspired scavenger hunt that introduces directionality.

Learn Tagalog words for position with an adorable kuneho (bunny). The “Tagalog Easter Hunt” printable includes a reference guide for different prepositional phrases and blank clue cards to practice hiding and seeking for “prizes” inside, around, or outside of the house.

This printable pack comes with a Tagalog reference sheet called “Nasaan ang kuneho?” to introduce the vocabulary looking at the positioning of the Easter bunny in the pictures.

Once you become familiar with the language, the next step would be to prepare for the scavenger hunt! Two pages of mini blank clue cards are provided (one in Tagalog and one with English translations). Your job will be to hide objects/prizes and to write their location based on the prompt.

Let the seeking begin! After you are all familiar with the vocabulary, it is time to look for the hidden objects based on the given clues. This activity is flexible and can be adapted for your family (age, skill level, how much help is given). Feel free to switch roles too! Not only can the parents create the clues, but have the kids also practice hiding and creating clues!

Although it is designed as an Easter or Spring worksheet, this scavenger hunt can be played all year long!

We would love to hear how your game goes! Feel free to share on social media #filamlearners and/or DM/tag us @filamlearners.

More Activities to Teach Directionality

The Balikbayan Box: Journey to the Philippines by Jocelyn Francisco, is a wonderful Filipino children’s book that teaches Tagalog prepositions while blending culture, as we follow the journey of the balikbayan box to the Philippines. We learn Tagalog words such as “sa loob” (inside), “nakatuwad” (upside down), and “sa harap ng” (in front of). Jocelyn Francisco’s storytelling paired with the charming illustrations by Karen Alleluia make this book a must-have for families who are looking to build their library of Filipino children’s literature.

To supplement the book, Little Yellow Jeepney has created printable Storybook Activities available for download, including:

  • Prepositions Board Game
  • Prepositions Dice
  • Balikbayan Box Math Storybook Guide

We love the comprehensiveness of the book paired with the activities. It encourages language development growth, math skills, and an introduction to Filipino culture. Head over to the post below to learn more about Balikbayan Box and to access the free activities.
